"Atlantis" is an interractive video installation that refers to the "bystander effect": a cutout cardboard city slowly submerges into water, as the sound of an SOS signal in Morse code plays and the lyrics of Sylvia Plath's "Crossing the Wter" flash across the water. The only way for the flood to be revesed is to have the viewer standing close to the video, thus declaring their support and making the decision to not "turn their back" on the dire phenomenon.
Technical aspects: Windows PC, Processing 4.5 IDE, Arduino board, Arduino IDE, active buzzer, proximity sensor.
