The work is an interactive web-based installation (web art) that simulates a seemingly familiar search engine environment. The user enters an interface that feels recognizable and is invited to perform searches, reproducing an everyday digital practice.

However, as the user interacts with the system, specific words—related to concepts such as surveillance, censorship, and control—are highlighted and distorted. Each attempt to explore them triggers gradual system malfunctions: delays in displaying results, visual distortions, and the deconstruction of the interface. The experience culminates in the complete collapse of the system, ultimately blocking the user’s access to information.

The work explores the relationship between the user and digital power, raising questions about the control of knowledge and the invisible limits of freedom on the internet. Inspired by cases such as that of Aaron Swartz, it highlights the tension between open access to knowledge and mechanisms of restriction.

The aim of the project is to transform an apparently neutral digital process into an experience of critical awareness, prompting the user to reflect on a fundamental question: who ultimately determines what we are allowed to know?
