Slow Explosion is part of a series of works that focus on events and moments, exploring the psycho-emotional realm of corporeality while aiming to create new images of the body. I draw imagery and information from both the microcosm and the macrocosm in order to examine the human body and the relationship between its internal parts and external stimuli. Internal processes appear simultaneously as cosmic phenomena. An important aspect of the work is also the attempt to extend the duration of these moments. This particular painting depicts a moment of internal release and conflict.
In the sound component of the work, I focus on the temporal elongation of the event through drone sounds, liquid elements such as bubbling, movement, and immersion into a world that is both repulsive and alluring. The sound piece consists of recorded sounds originating from my mouth, digitally processed using the software Reaper and PaulXStretch.
