The work is a sonic approach to the painting “Metanoia” by Angeliki Lemoni. The depicted figure, lying on a bed in a state of inertia, suggests a condition of internal decay.
The frogs in the scene function as symbolic references to people and relationships—romantic or otherwise—in which the subject has invested, although they prove to be destructive. Metanoia is approached here as a recurring pattern of self-undermining.
The composition develops through a narrative axis. At three points, the voice of the painter appears, recorded exclusively for the work, reading excerpts from The Songs of Maldoror, and operates as a point of intervention within the sonic flow.
The sonic field is built on dark drones and discrete events, such as creaks and impacts, linked to the body and the surrounding space. At a key moment, the work is abruptly interrupted, followed by silence that suggests an ending. When the sound returns, it shifts into a darker sonic field, presenting metanoia as an open and unresolved condition.
