The 14th Audiovisual Arts Festival at the Ionian University, after a year of absence due to the emergency measures implemented in Greece to limit the spread of Covid-19, is co-organized once again by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and the Electroacoustic Music Research & Applications Lab - Dept. Music Studies.

The program of the 14th Audiovisual Arts Festival, which will take place on 13-31 May, covers, as every year, a wide range of artistic, educational and scientific activities. Focusing on the artistic creation of the students, within the framework of the Festival, the 7th season of seminars-workshops AVschool organized by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts takes place online on 24-27 May and the 3rd International Conference on Digital Cultures & AudioVisual Challenges (DCAC) on 28-29 May, 2021.

Investing in extroversion, the 14th Audiovisual Arts Festival has collaborations with the University of Western Macedonia, the Athens Digital Arts Festival, the Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association (HELMCA) and with local organizations such as the Ionian Islands Region, the Corfu Photography Club (PHOTO.LE.KE.) and the Scout Association of Corfu. To remark, from the field of Performing Arts, the participation of Mary Zygouri, Filippos Tsitsopoulos and Michalis Mitrou.

The activities of the festival have gained a large international participation, having this year as guest artists the bioartists Adam Zaretsky and Marta de Menezes and as supporters the Drama Pitching Lab of the Drama International Short Film Festival, the Laboratory of Interactive Arts (InArts) and Cultivamos Cultura of Portugal.

To remark as well the collaboration of the 14th Festival with the European Art - Science Technology Network for Digital Creativity (EASTN-DC), hosting artistic and educational activities and also presenting a special session at the conference Digital Cultures and AudioVisual Challenges. Distinguished speakers at this year's conference are Georgios N Yannakakis and Daniel Ballin.
