MULTIMATION: Multimedia for the stage
16 - 22 of March 2017
Athens - Greece
OPEN CALL
METAMORPHOSIS
Everything flows, nothing stands still.
Heraclitus
Open call for live multimedia art performances that expand the field of animation, focusing on flow and movement in public space and environment.
MULTIMATION calls upon performers, artists and creators to propose innovative art works, connecting the digital world with the body via contemporary multimedia art performances.
Works will be presented on stages, both indoors as outdoors, focusing on flow and movement in the environment, inspired by playful and dynamic interventions, leading to new conversations about and revealing the other sides of movement in lived space.
We are proposing to acknowledge senses as a distinct and a positive matter of creation, of communication and as exploration of space and environment, with digital technology and new media as instruments.
We are looking for ideas about public space, environment and movement that are extraordinary, surprising, playful, thought provoking, subversive and transformative.
All artists and creative professionals of all fields are welcome to apply (performers, dancers, actors, musicians, sound artists, designers, painters, sculptors, new media artists, digital artists, internet artists, software and app developers, video artists, installation and technology artists, architects, social and community artists, writers, etc.).
Collectives, groups and artists with disabilities are strongly encouraged to participate. We encourage artists to engage with those less engaged, to empower those who are disempowered.
An interplay between performance, digital arts and new media will be the core elements for selected live multimedia installations, even though the artistic form of proposals can be wider, as long as focusing on movement, space and environment.
VENUES
Indoor venue will be the TRIANON cinema in Athens (http://www.trianon.gr/v1/)
Outdoor venues will be in the public space of Athens, and in outdoor yards of selected institutes as the Archaeological Museum of Athens, the Polytechnic School of Athens.
A selection of works will be part of the related exhibition at ANIMART 2017 in Delphi, during next Summer. (http://animartgreece.eu/2017/en/)
