Set sail!!! AnimaSyros International Animation Festival + Agora returns to Syros island, Cyclades, Greece on 24th-27th September 2015.
In this year’s programme we plan to introduce a brand new section exclusively compiled by feature animated films. This section would act as the pilot for an upcoming AnimaSyros’ competitive branch which will hopefully include the cream of each season’s animated crop. The exact nature and the prizes for this very section would be imminently announced.
In AnimaSyros 8.0 we also inaugurate an all-new interactive space within the festival with the establishment of “Agora”; a natural evolutionary stage of our annual “Forum”, which now becomes part of a broader concept which aspires to create even more networking and business opportunities among AnimaSyros’ visiting professionals.
Animated shorts would once more carry most of the screenings’ weight. The official selection includes two distinct competitive sections for professional and student shorts, two out-of-competition panoramas (Greek + International), retrospectives and tributes to well-established animators and fellow festivals, educational workshops and lots of satellite events focusing on the hosting city of Hermoupolis, Syros and the art of animation.
Consider this message an open call and an invitation to a whole new, ever expanding and persistently ambitious AnimaSyros festival. All the interested filmmakers and animators are welcomed to submit their application (found –here-, general terms & conditions –here-) until the 31st of July 2015.
