The performance Free Souvenirs explores the relationship between the body, the gaze, and consumption. Through a process of deconstruction and distribution of “souvenirs,” the act becomes a commentary on the commodification of the image and the power of the gaze. The work invites the viewer to recognize their own role within this relationship of viewing and power.
The female body is not a product; it is a presence.
