My work is connected to lived, immediate experience. I paint objects or bodies that share the same space with me, turning the process into a sensitive and rewarding experience. Color is a key element in this process. It transforms the blank page and invites the creation of interesting color relationships. With a brush, pencil, or charcoal, I feel as though I touch the surface of my subject each time, decode it, and translate it onto paper.
