"Mechanical Universe" is a work of video poetry, mainly associated to the concept of the human-machine as a person with deactivated emotional functions. More accurately, it provokes the viewer to travel through the inner world of the human-machine, where the emotional and cognitive functions have become automated and depleted. The visual elements of this black and white universe (human bodies, strings of letters, natural elements) are poetic and symbolic, whilst the trip through this universe begins and ends at the exact same place. The video is based on an original text of the same name. The soundscape that accompanies the narration of the text throughout the video is an original drone-style soundscape that draws inspiration from cosmic sonifications, creating a universe that feels cosmic and unwelcoming at the same time.
