Mon Repos is approached as a heterotopia of the Open and the Closed, where the natural freedom of the landscape coexists with human structures of organization and control. The entrance, the pathways, and the interventions of everyday operation (such as vehicles or passing visitors) constitute the dimension of closure, while the atmospheric sounds of nature—the waves, the birds, and the distant echo of a ship—express the openness and fluidity of public space. The composition of image and sound captures the transition between these two levels, highlighting how, at Mon Repos, the experience of the walker is articulated through the simultaneous presence of freedom and delimitation: a continuous coexistence of the open and the closed within the same environment.
