On September 12-13, 2018, the project “Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema” (CIAK) was launched through its kickoff meeting that took place in Bari, Italy. CIAK is funded by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014-2020 and the kickoff meeting was hosted by the lead partner, the Foundation Apulia Film Commission. Ionian University is a CIAK project partner, represented by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, being responsible for organizing and delivering the planned educational activities starting in 2019, as well as theme-specific festivals.

The ebook with the proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science 2017 was published by the Ionian University - Department of Audio & Visual Arts in September 2018. This digital publication includes 38 contributions, in Greek and English, of writers from 14 different countries, accepted by the scientific and artistic committee.  ΤΤΤ2017 Proceedings

Marianna Strapatsakis, artist and former Associate Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University will present her work at the exhibition entitled Shell // the politics of being at the 15th Kypseli High School in Athens. The animation feature film THEOX by Giorgos Nikopoulos, graduate and Phd Candidate at Audio & Visual Arts Departments of Ionian University, will have a wordwide premiere at Olympion Cinema Theater, on Thursday, November 9th at 18.00 during the 58th Thessaloniki International Film Festival and will be repeated on Saturday 11th at 17.30, at Tonia Marketaki Cinema Theater located, Apothiki D, Port of Thessaloniki.

Photo Lab of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts invites you to the opening of the 12th Student Photo Exhibition on Friday the 12th of May, 8 p.m. at prisons of Old Fortress.

Developed for the purposes of COST action IS1210 "Appearance Matters: Tackling the Physical and Psychosocial Consequences of Dissatisfaction with Appearance", Many Parts of Something Great is a short animation film which aims to address younger ages with a message positive image. The project was coordinated by Dr. Brenda Murphy (Malta) and Dr. Dalila Honorato (Greece) and was supported by the Interactive Arts Lab (Ionian University) and the Campus FM 103.7 (University of Malta).

The Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University proudly announces that the e-book with the proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference "Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art and Science 2016" has been released. The electronic edition includes more than 40 chapters, in Greek and in English, of authors from 16 different countries.
