Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor at Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts, invited speaker at the scholarly event dedicated to the Cretan lyra player Kostas Mountakis, organized by Manos Mountakis and the Municipality of Papagos–Cholargos on the occasion of the book KOSTAS MOUNTAKIS: A RETROSPECTIVE (Metronomos Publications), will address the contribution of this eminent artist to Cretan music and his collaborations with leading figures of the arts and letters. Her lecture is entitled:
“Kostas Mountakis through the Testimonies of Three Major Cretan Figures: G. Amargianakis, G. Sifakis, M. Theodorakis.”
The event will take place, 11.2.2026, at the “Mikis Theodorakis” Cultural Center of the Municipality of Papagos–Cholargos, at 7:00 p.m.
In the second part of the event, the memory of Kostas Mountakis will be honored by the musicians:

- Nikos Karavirakis & Vangelis Mamalakis, laouto
- Dionysis Kornilakis, lyra and vocals
- Nikos Androulakis, vocals
The event will be moderated by Argyro Mountaki, PhD in Philology, Model Varvakeio School.
