The Municipality of Central Corfu and the Diapontian Islands, in collaboration with the Ionian University, is organizing a round table discussion on the topic:

“Cultural Diplomacy on an International and National Level”, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., at the Ionian Parliament.

Speakers:

  1. Sotiris Livas, Member of the Governing Council of the Ionian University, Professor of International Relations, Dept. of Foreign Languages, Translation & Interpreting, Ionian University: “Exploring the Limits of Soft Power in International Relations”
  2. Manolis Drakakis, Associate Professor of Archival Science, Dept. of Archives, Library Science and Museology, Ionian University:“Cultural Diplomacy through the Writings of Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias”
  3. Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor of Music and Audiovisual Culture, Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts, Ionian University, ERT Producer: “Cultural Identities as a Tool for Cultural Diplomacy on a National and International Level”
  4. Michalis Chondroyiannis, Economist, PhD, Ionian University: “Cultural Diplomacy and Strategies in Tourism”
  5. Petros Kapsaskis, PhD in Cultural Diplomacy, President of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy: “The Art of Cultural Diplomacy”.

Moderator:

Lykourgos Skiadopoulos, Journalist at ERT Corfu.

The event will also include musical performances featuring:

  • A female vocal ensemble from the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University and the Children-Youth Choir “Ag. Spyridon”.
    Instructor: Georgios Papaspyrou; Supervisor: Christina Kalliaridou, Teaching Staff Member of the Dept. of Music Studies, Ionian University.
  • The Corfiot Kantada & Mandolinata.
    Instructor: Apostolos Valsamas, conductor.
  • The Traditional Choir of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Corfu.
    Instructor: A. Valsamas, conductor.
  • A vocal work for piano and violin by Olga Koutsoukali, composer and choir conductor.
