The two departments of the Faculty of Music and Audiovisual Arts, the Department of Audio and Visual Arts (AVARTS) and the Department of Music Studies (Electroacoustic Music Research and Applications Lab, EPHMEE) of the Ionian University join once again forces in order to organize the 12th annual Audiovisual Arts Festival, held from May 28 tο June 10, 2018, in Corfu.
During the Festival, Sottovocce will take place from May 29 to June 2, 2018 at Ionian Vouli. Sottovoce, i.e. quietly sounding, is a series of concerts of electro-acoustic music that keep the sound levels low, experiencing time at its long durations and conversing with the Ionian Vouli’s particular acoustic space.
This program includes works by the composers/professors in the two departments of the Ionian University’s School of Music and Audiovisual Arts, as well as works by composers, members of HELMCA (Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association) as well as students' works.
The series of these concerts is completed with the presentation of two unique works of electroacoustic music by Robert Ashley and Luc Ferrari.
The permission to stage this series of concerts in the hall of Ionian Vouli is generously granted by the Municipality of Corfu.
