The premiere of the British-American film "Dominion" will take place at the Ionian Academy, on Saturday, May 12th at 21.00, to support the 12th Audiovisual Arts Festival of the Ionian University in Corfu.
Starring John Malkovich, Rhys Ifans, Romola Garai and Rodrigo Santoro, "Dominion" has recently won the Best Actor Award (Rhys Ifans) at the Tallinn Film Festival, and at the Rio Film Festival was called "Oscar worthy". At the same time, according to the Hollywood Reporter, it is a "stunning" film.
By alternating comic book philosophy with scenes of action and passion, "Dominion" tells the impressive story of the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and the wild days of uninterrupted fun at the famous New York great artist hang-out, the White Horse Tavern. The film is dominated by the exceptional Rhys Ifans (Snowdon, Notting Hill), as you have never seen him before, in a masterful and unpretentious, breathtaking interpretation.
Both screenwriter and director of the film Steven Bernstein, as well as producer Carolyn Rodney will be present at this special screening. After the screening, Bernstein will talk about the film and answer questions from the audience.
Bernstein's latest film was "Decoding Annie Parker", which won the Sloan Award. The internationally renowned cinematographer is known for his Academy Award-winning movie "Monster" and the television series "Magic City", as well as for his other work in some of the most famous feature films of the last thirty years.
Bernstein and Rodney have in recent years travelled in Greece, aspiring to support Greek cinema production, and their vision and actions for the establishment of a Permanent Studio and Cinema School, as well as for the improvement of the relevant tax legislation in Greece have repeatedly drawn great interest.
Any proceeds from the screening are being donated to the 12th Audiovisual Arts Festival of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, to be held in Corfu from May 29 to June 10, 2018.
