PhD research topic:
It is generally agreed today that the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence and social media over the last decade, especially in audiovisual arts, aims to enhance the aesthetic experience in art galleries and museums. This makes measuring their effects more necessary than ever before. Against this background, the main idea of this study is to investigate the effects of aesthetic experience on human emotions. Thus it is essential to concede the basic characteristics, as well as other crucial factors that influence the enjoyment of art. Then we try to relate them to the popularity of various artworks and artists through the lens of artificial intelligence algorithms. The question of whether the art influences human emotions has been preoccupying with the experts for some time. For this reason this investigation attempts to: 1. redefine theoretical frameworks and explore recent empirical studies of art experience, its popularity and their effect on human emotions. 2. Identify the state-of-the-art trends and strategies regarding the art presence on social media networks. Also attempts to recognize the emotional states and aesthetic preferences of viewers through their posts, such as museum selfies. 3. Explore this research topic by discussing empirical studies about the influence of art (e.g. painting, installation art) on human emotions, concerning how popular the artwork or artist is. To analyze and visualize the media data, Python programming language and artificial intelligence algorithmswill be used.
