The purpose of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2026 is to showcase the best animated films from around the world. The festival also aims to preserve and help develop the cultural heritage of animated films, contribute to the creation of new works, provide a platform for potential international co-productions, and encourage dialogue among professionals, filmmakers, and audiences.
The ICONA 2026 Festival is organized and promoted by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University and will take place in a hybrid format at the Ionian Academy (Akadimias and Kapodistriou Streets, Corfu) and online, from November 12 to 15, 2026.
