The Animation Festival ICONA 2024, which took place from December 5th to 8th 2024, exclusively online, by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, was successfully completed.
The festival program included both professional and student competitions. A total of 288 films from 52 countries were screened.

ICONA FESTIVAL 2024 AWARDS/CEREMONY
The artistic committee consisted of the Director of the Festival Konstantinos Tiligadis, Professor at Ionian University and Deputy Head of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Assistant Professor of the University of the Aegean, Panagiotis Kyriakoulakos, the Professor of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at University of Western Macedonia, Vasilis Bouzas, the artist Vasiliki Kappa and the Associate Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at Ionian University, Fotis Raftopoulos, evaluated the films and awarded the following Awards 2024.
The Festival's Award Ceremony took place online on Sunday, December 8th, 2024. The ceremony started with the greetings by the Dean of the Faculty of Music & Audiovisual Arts, Professor Andreas Giannakoulopoulos, the Chair of the organizing committee of the Festival and Head of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Associate Professor Michail Panagopoulos, the Director of the ICONA Festival, Professor Konstantinos Tiligadis, the Assistant Professor of the University of the Aegean, Panagiotis Kyriakoulakos, the Professor of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at University of Western Macedonia, Vasilis Bouzas, the Assistant Professor of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts at Ionian University, Iakovos Panagopoulos, the Head of the Regional Council of the Ionian Islands, Olympia Kardakari and the artist and member of the artistic committee, Vasiliki Kappa.
The best part of the ceremony was the participation of several of the winners - from Greece, Spain, United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan - who received their awards and spoke about their films and experiences from their participation in the ICONA Festival 2024.
