Professional Experience
Daphne Dragona has worked as a curator, researcher, theorist and writer in Athens and Berlin. Her work has addressed issues such as the contradictions of connectivity, the promises of the commons, the ambivalent role of technology in the climate crisis, paying attention to how these are being approched through artistic and curatorial practices.
Among the exhibitions he has curated or co-curated are: Plasmata II: Ioannina (Onassis Stegi, Ioannina, 2023), Weather Engines (Onassis Stegi & National Observatory of Athens, 2022), Stefania Strouza, 212 Medea (AnnexM, Megaron Mousikis, Athens 2021), Trials & Errors (Romance, Athens 2021), Reprogramming Earth (NeMe, Limassol, 2020), Kyriaki Goni, Counting Craters on the Moon (Aksioma, Ljubljana, 2019), Tomorrows, Urban fictions for possible futures (Diplareios, Athens 2017), Capture All (transmediale, Berlin, 2015), Ek Neou: A new generation of Greek artists (EMST, 2013), Homo Ludens Ludens (Laboral, Yijon, 2008). He has also curated conferences, workshops and other hybrid activities.
Her articles have been published in various books, journals, academic reviews and exhibition catalogues by Springer, Sternberg Press, Diaphanes, Leonardo Electronic Almanac, Isos, Alexandria, etc. As a guest speaker she has given lectures at events such as Mapping Festival (Geneva), MoMA (New York), Hek (Basel), Arts in Society (London), Leuphana University (Luneburg), Goethe University (Frankfurt)
She was curator of the festival transmediale (Berlin) from 2015 to 2019, and of the EMAF festival (Osnabrück) in 2021 and 2022. She is a curatorial advisor to the Onassis Cultural Centre of the Onassis Foundation.
