Polyxeni (Xenia) Kaimara is a psychologist in structures of Mental Health Sector and in Education, Social Support and Training Centers for People with Disability of the Greek Ministry of Health.

She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology & Educational Technology from the Department of Audio & Visual Arts at Ionian University and is a member of the InArts.eu Interactive Arts Lab. She holds a Master's degree in Developmental and School Psychology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Department of Psychology), a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of West Attica (formerly National School of Public Health), and a degree in Counseling and Guidance from the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (formerly known as SELETE). She is a certified Trainer and Evaluator of Adult Educators by the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP) and a certified Accompanying Support Services (SYY) by the same organization. She also participates in the certification exams of SYY as an Evaluator - Expert. She is also a certified Trainer at the Center for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the Ionian University of the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government, as well as for Professional Training Programs (LAEK).

Her doctoral thesis focused on the design and development of transmedia educational applications with an emphasis on gamification, targeting both typically developing students and students with special educational needs or disabilities in the context of inclusive education programs https://www.didaktorika.gr/eadd/handle/10442/52582 .

Since 2022, she has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, supervised by Associate Professor Ioannis Deliyannis, studying “The collaboration of educational psychology and educational technology in formal and informal learning: The impact of contemporary technology on holistic human development."

She has teaching experience at the University of Western Macedonia and the Ionian University, Greece. Her research interests focus on studying emerging technology, gamification, art, theater education, and transmedia storytelling in learning for the design and evaluation of educational systems and educational games for children and young adults with special educational needs or disabilities, both in formal and informal education, with the ultimate goal of implementing inclusive education. She is a co-author of books, chapters in collective volumes, articles in international and Greek scientific journals, and in proceedings of international and national conferences. She also serves as a reviewer of international journals.
