Spinning
Event Hours: 28/09/2023 (18:45)
Location: Central Courtyard [Y]
Vlasta Žanić

I spin until I lose my balance and fall to the floor. After a few moments I rise to my feet and repeat the process until the dizziness causes me to fall again. I continually provoke a state in which I free myself from gravity, orientation, security and predictability. With every new spin, I start from the beginning, from the symbolic zero, in anticipation of some ‘new me’ and my newly established or forgotten settings. I perceive the time spent on the ground after the fall as my reset, returning me to my basic, ‘factory’ settings. With each iteration, I establish a new balance, and try to become aware of and understand it. In this way, I question and provoke my own personality and creativity. I invite the audience to join me in this performative act, repeating with me the process of spinning, falling and rising, in order to encounter the work through their own physical experience.
