The FeralAIR 2025 residency is now open for applications! Artists, makers, and researchers working at the intersection of art, technology, and the maker movement are invited to apply for this unique opportunity to develop and present their projects in Hallein, Austria.

FeralAIR offers a funded residency and project development grant, providing workspace in September 2025, networking opportunities, and a presentation as part of Schmiede25: FAUST (September 17–27, 2025). The residency is part of the Rewilding Cultures Network, fostering collaborations across art, science, and technology.

Key Details

- 1,000€ artist fee for up to 3 weeks in Hallein
- Material costs, travel, and accommodation covered
- Residency period: September 1 – October 5, 2025
- Workspace at the Saline in Hallein throughout September
- Participation in Schmiede25: FAUST – September 17–27, 2025
- Access to Schmiede and the Feral Networks

How to Apply

- Submit your application by March 31, 2025 to euprojects@schmiedehallein.com
- The application should be max. three pages and include:

  • A concept for the residency

  • A curriculum vitae

  • References

An independent jury will select the residents. The program includes a public artist talk and a final presentation with process documentation. The FeralAIR fee is paid 50% at the start and 50% after project documentation submission.

Expectations: Residents should produce process documentation and/or work that can be exhibited.
