This presentation examines contemporary practices for recruiting and engaging volunteers in the health sector, drawing on principles from social marketing, behavioral science, and digital technologies. Through examples from Greece and Europe (e.g., blood donation, prevention, public health), it highlights how organizations and agencies can transform information into meaningful participation, emphasizing: a) citizens’ motivations and barriers, b) the importance of messaging and storytelling, and c) the use of digital tools for targeted communication.
The presentation focuses not only on “how we inform,” but primarily on how we mobilize and sustain engagement.
