Dalila Honorato was born in Portugal where she graduated in Communication and Media Studies. In 1997 she moved to Greece where she obtained her MA and Ph.D degrees at the University of Athens as a scholarship holder. Since 2005, she has been teaching courses on Media Aesthetics and Semiotics at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University in Corfu, currently as an Assistant Professor. One of the founding members of the Interactive Arts Lab, her research focus is on embodiment in the intersection of performing arts and new media. She is the head of the organizing committee of the interdisciplinary conference "Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science".
