Nickos Zafeirides is a graduate of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University, where he developed a broad skill set across sound production, video editing, cinematography, and film studies. While his main interest lies in music composition and sound design, his academic journey allowed him to explore both artistic and technological aspects of media creation. His thesis on psychoacoustics reflected a combination of creative exploration and theoretical research. Nickos has contributed as a volunteer in the technical support team of the Audiovisual Arts Festival (2022–2023), gaining valuable experience in collaborative and production environments. As a postgraduate student in the MARes program, he is developing a research project focused on the concept of the "digitization of the brain". His work engages with ideas from artificial life, neuroscience, and AI, as well as the artistic potential of visualizing information and machine-generated creativity. Through his research, he hopes to examine the boundaries between human cognition and digital systems, and to reflect on the ethical and aesthetic questions raised by emerging technologies.
