Student Ombudsperson
The Student Ombudsperson has the following responsibilities:
a) Investigates cases, either ex officio or upon a student’s report, and mediates with the competent institutional bodies to resolve them. To fulfill their mission, they may request any information, documents, or evidence from university services, interview individuals, conduct on-site inspections, and order expert reports. If they find that legality is not being observed, that maladministration is occurring, or that the smooth functioning of the institution is being disrupted, they issue a report, which is communicated to the faculty member or administrative unit involved, as well as to the student who filed the report, and mediate by all appropriate means. They may archive any report deemed clearly vague, unfounded, or unsupported. If indications of a disciplinary offence exist, they refer the case to the appropriate disciplinary body.
b) Provides information to staff and students on the role, responsibilities, and mission of the Student Ombudsperson.
c) Designs and coordinates educational activities for students and staff, in collaboration with other university units and external bodies, particularly the Greek Ombudsman and Student Ombudspersons of other HEIs in Greece and abroad.
d) Participates in the development of internal policies and tools to enhance integrity and transparency, and collaborates with the relevant HEI bodies on drafting the Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Management Regulations, and protocols for addressing cases of fraud and corruption.
e) Informs and collaborates with the governing bodies of the institution, the Ethics Committee, the Internal Audit Unit, the Integrity Advisor, and the administrative unit responsible for human resources and institutional support, for the development and implementation of integrity policies and standards.
f) Prepares an annual report, submitted to the Rector, the Governing Council, and the Senate, detailing activities carried out, progress of cases handled, and proposals for improving service effectiveness.

Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination Committee
The Committee’s responsibilities include:
a) Developing action plans to promote substantive equality and combat discrimination across the University’s educational, research, and administrative processes, and preparing an annual report submitted to the Senate and Governing Council.
b) Recommending measures for promoting equality, combating discrimination, and addressing sexual harassment and other forms of harassment.
c) Monitoring and evaluating implementation of these measures and proposing improvements.
d) Providing information and training to the academic community on gender equality, LGBTQ+ issues, anti-discrimination, and issues related to sexual harassment and harassment.
e) Promoting curricula, seminars, and lectures on gender studies, LGBTQ+ issues, anti-discrimination, and harassment prevention.
f) Encouraging studies and research in related fields.
g) Recording reports and complaints regarding incidents of discrimination and sexual or other harassment and forwarding them to the competent authorities.
h) Supporting victims of discrimination, sexual harassment, or other forms of harassment when reporting incidents.
