Master Sapience Gatherings: July 2026 Presentations

We are pleased to continue the MSG Talks, an online platform where MARes postgraduate students share their ongoing research, artistic practices, and emerging inquiries with the broader academic and artistic community.

Join us in July 2026 for two presentations that explore interactive performance, therapeutic artistic experiences, digital culture, critical theory, and the social implications of emerging technologies.

MSG Talk with Anna Laura Hafner

Thursday, July 23, 2026 — 5:00 PM (Athens time)

Multidisciplinary artist Anna Laura Hafner will present her ongoing MARes research exploring therapeutic interactive performance experiences that combine light, colour, sound, and movement. Drawing on more than a decade of creating performances in unconventional spaces, her practice brings together masks, puppets, costumes, video, painting, installation, and found materials to construct immersive environments. Addressing themes of home, love, loss, and climate change, her current artistic research investigates how multisensory interactive experiences can sustain reflection, participation, and wellbeing through embodied engagement.

MSG Talk with Foteini Vergidou

Monday, July 27, 2026 — 5:00 PM (Athens time)

Curator, cultural project manager, and researcher Foteini Vergidou will present her MARes research examining the intersections of digital culture, cyberpsychology, and critical theory. Her work investigates how intimacy, identity, embodiment, and everyday life are transformed by algorithmic systems, surveillance, platform economies, and gendered power structures. Bridging artistic experimentation with contemporary theory, her research develops critical perspectives on digital existence, and explores how artistic practice can illuminate and challenge increasingly datafied realities.

Supervisor: Daphne Dragona
