The Master of Research (MARes) in Hybrid Arts is pleased to highlight an exciting opportunity for students and alumni who are based in Athens. Former postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University and current member of the Node for Hybrid Arts at the Interactive Arts Lab, Eleni Kolliopoulou, will be hosting an experiential seminar on performance training and self-empowerment, offering an excellent chance for in-person engagement. The seminar taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, time 18:00 – 21:00, will be hosted at Ov Off Studio, Feidippidou 22, 3rd floor, Athens.
This three-hour experiential seminar is designed for artists, dancers, musicians, poets, actors, performers, composers, directors, and anyone interested in exploring the dynamics of presence and performance. The workshop incorporates body-talk techniques—a method developed by Eleni Kolliopoulou—blending theatrical exercises, mindfulness, Butoh, and Qi-Gong.
Participants will explore the interplay between self-awareness and external stimuli through guided exercises and discussions that emphasize:
- Non-verbal communication and emotional expression
- Sensory perception of space, light, and sound
- Embodiment of external stimuli through personal artistic filters
- The balance between physical, mental, and emotional states in performance
The workshop encourages vulnerability and authenticity, deepening participants' understanding of how presence affects both performer and audience.
