Apulia Film Commission will organize the second weekly part of the Screenwriting Workshop “Greece-Puglia Experience”, one of the activities of the project CIAK, from 9 to 15 October 2019 at Bari Cineporto.
After the successful first week organized by the Ionian University in Ioannina (Greece) on 6-12 September 2019, the itinerant workshop moves to Bari, where 15 ascendant cinema screenwriters from all over the world will continue attending intensive courses towards the development of their personal scenario, inspired by the atmosphere and the beauties of Puglia. The last weekly sequence of the workshop will be held in Corfu in November 2019.
The artistic director of this educational event is the worldwide famous, award-winning director Alexander Avranas. Under his supervision, highly experienced tutors (Spyros Verykios – Ionian University Assistant Professor and the awarded writers/directors DimitriosGiatzouzakis and Stavros Pampalis) will teach and supervise the workshop participants, helping and guiding them towards the successful development of state-of-the-art scenarios.
The CIAK project, funded for around 900.000 euro by Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014-2020, aims to promote the territory of the involved regions (Regions of Ionian Islands, Western Greece and Epirus in Greece and Puglia Region in Italy), through initiatives linked to the cinema and audiovisual sector. The valorization of the natural and cultural heritage through short movies, documentaries, fiction, animations about the common story of Italy and Greece will improve the touristic attractiveness of the area by supporting a cross-border community composed of the creative industry operators.
Apulia Film Commission Foundation is the lead beneficiary of this project in cooperation with four greek partners, the Region of Epirus, the Region of Ionian Islands, the Region of Western Greece and the Ionian University – Research Committee. Associated partner is Puglia Region Department for Economy of Culture, Tourism and Valorization of Territory.
