Myrsini Vounatsou

Myrsini (Myrto) Vounatsou is a visual artist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts at the University of West Attica, where she has taught since 2003 and has held a permanent faculty position since 2022. She graduated with distinction from the Painting Department of the Athens School of Fine Arts, where she studied under Professor Nikos Kessanlis, and completed postgraduate studies in the interdepartmental Master’s program of the Athens School of Fine Arts and the National Technical University of Athens in Digital Arts. She also holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Painting. Her studies further include Visual Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts.

Her artistic and research practice centers video installation, digital and new media art, with a critical focus on social, cultural, and political issues. She has presented her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Greece and internationally. Her work has received awards, appeared in exhibition catalogues, been discussed by art critics and historians, and is included in private collections. She has also participated in scientific conferences and served as principal investigator in research projects in visual arts, digital art practices, and audiovisual media.

Since 1998, she has maintained an ongoing artistic collaboration with Stelios Dexis, Professor of Digital Media and Digital Design at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has also collaborated with Vasilis Agiomyrgianakis, Adjunct Professor of Sound Design at the University of West Attica.
