The 17th Audiovisual Arts Festival, a central event of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (AVARTS) of the Ionian University, ended on Sunday (02/06) with great success and large public attendance. For 10 days (May 23 – June 2, 2024) an original program of artistic, scientific and educational events provided the city of Corfu with new cultural experiences, gaining the attention of the academic and the local community.

The 17th Festival of Audiovisual Arts celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (AVARTS) of the Ionian University, presenting an extroverted, dynamic, and rich program of artistic, scientific, and educational events that fills the city of Corfu with images and sounds. The opening of the festival is the central anniversary event and will take place on Thursday (23/05) at 19:30 in the People's Garden.

AV-school, the series of seminars and workshops of the Audiovisual Arts Festival, will be held at the Public Central Historic Library at Corfu from May 28th to May 31st, 2024. AV-School 2024 theme is “Impressions” and it celebrates the Department of Audio and Visual Arts’ 20th Anniversary. The program is open to all those interested in contemporary art issues and new technologies, focusing this year in topics related with film, performance art, radio, gaming and art research. Registration for both workshops and seminars is free, and attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

The 15th Audiovisual Arts Festival organised by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts in collaboration with the ΕΡΗΜΕΕ laboratory of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University chose the Environment Day, Sunday, June 5th to celebrate at the estate of Mon Repo the end of its rich program. The volunteers of the Festival, of whom we are very proud and to whom we are obliged, undertake the organisation of the closing event, the same people who undertook the opening on May 12th. We are invited to a celebration for relaxation and decompression with respect for the natural environment and its ideals.
Meeting in Corfu of EU design partners for new Master of Art program “Art, Science & Health” (ASH-MA)

On June 1-3, a meeting of the ASH-MA consortium for the design of a new Art, Science & Health MA program with participants from Croatia, Serbia and Greece, will take place in Corfu. The program was launched in February 2022 by the Croatian NGO Kontejner, Bureau of Contemporary Art Praxis and three universities: Academy of Fine Arts - University of Zagreb (Zagreb, Croatia), Department of Audio and Visual Arts - Ionian University (Corfu, Greece) and Faculty of Media and Communication - Singidunum University (Belgrade, Serbia).
