Date & Time: 12/05/2019, 13:00-17:00
Location: Video Laboratory of InArts in AVARTS, left of Gousis Building
Language: English
The workshop will be co-organized by the Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music, Research and Applications within the framework of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program of Arts and Audio Technologies.
In this workshop we'll learn how to dismantle electronic toys, re-bend its circuits to expand the sound possibilities and turn them into original and creative instruments. Step by step, we'll see how these toys are constructed, add some components and re-solder, in order to discover their hidden sounds, which the manufacturer never really wanted to share with us. No earlier experience is needed. Just a few simple tools, and some toys to work on. The toys should be making some sound on demand (via buttons, keys, etc.) and as old as possible, since the toys made in the last years are too closed and don't offer many options for bending. The workshop will last 3-4 hours.
