Sound Design

Description:

The course offers the opportunity to develop listening skills regarding the evaluation of environmental sound for creative purposes. More specifically, students are taught to listen to and record sounds of outdoors spaces, through an interactive process with the environmental sounding materials. Through this process, discussion is also developed regarding creative recording (or else "what to listen to" and "what to record" and "why") based on the philosophical basis of acoustic ecology. The material is then given to students for further experimentation in the studio, with regard to creative purposes of the course.
