On May 12–13, 2026, as part of AvSchool, a two-day workshop-seminar will be held, dedicated to empowering voluntary blood donor groups and students through modern audiovisual communication. The initiative aims to develop skills in promotional content creation, effective recruitment of new volunteers, and the strategic use of social media.
The first day features keynote speeches by the Governor of the General Hospital of Corfu, Ms. Manto Eglezopoulou, the Director of the Blood Donation Department, Mr. Vassilis Andriotis, the representative of PANDOTIS, Mr. Tasos Nikolouzos, and Assistant Professor at the Ionian University, Mr. Kostas Voglis.
Specifically, Ms. Eglezopoulou will present the talk "Click of Life: The Digital Bridge between Administration and the Volunteer," highlighting the administration's contribution to the digital transformation of voluntary blood donation and how the hospital communicates with society through audiovisual media. Mr. Andriotis will focus on "Psychological Fears and Anxiety during Blood Donation," shedding light on the human dimensions of the process. Mr. Nikolouzos will discuss "Creating the Message of Offering: Training Blood Donation Volunteers in the Audiovisual Society," while Dr. Voglis, with his talk "From Awareness to Participation: Attracting Health Volunteers Today," will analyze modern strategies for approaching and activating new regular blood donors.
The second day begins with a keynote speech by Associate Professor Ms. Agni Papadopoulou titled: "Volunteerism as a Cohesive Life Practice: From Cognitive Background to Conscious Choice of Relationships and Participation," treating voluntary action as a conscious stance governed by deep personal values. This is followed by a workshop led by Ms. Lina Petrianou, voice-over artist, content creator, and PhD candidate at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, titled: "Digital Storytelling and Transmedia Strategies for the Promotion of Voluntary Blood Donation."
