Professor

Ioannis Deligiannis is a Professor at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts and serves as the Director of the Institute for Games Research (IGR) at the Ionian University. With extensive expertise in the creation of interactive worlds, his work explores the synergy between gaming, technology, art, and education. As a founding member of the InArts Laboratory and head of the Gaming & Gamification group, he designs innovative projects leveraging augmented and virtual reality, holograms, and metaverse systems to transform digital interaction. His portfolio spans a wide array of applications, from educational games and interactive installations to adaptive multimedia and cultural heritage experiences. A prolific researcher and author, Professor Deligiannis is actively shaping the future of digital media, most recently through the launch of a pioneering Master’s program dedicated to game design and production, aimed at cultivating the next generation of industry professionals.
