Mother Earth: Mothers Seeing Change in Corfu is a practicebased art project that explores how environmental change is experienced in everyday life through the perspectives of mothers living
on the island of Corfu. The project uses participatory photography and one-on-one engagement to invite mothers to document moments that reflect care, memory, and changes in their local environment. These photographs serve as a starting point for dialogue and reflection, positioning participants as co-creators and valuing lived experience as a form of knowledge. In response to the participants’ images and conversations, the artist produces a body of photographic work that translates these perspectives through relational, artistic interpretation. The project culminates in an exhibition that presents participant photographs alongside the artist’s responses, creating a visual dialogue that communicates personal and collective experiences of environmental change. Mother Earth: Mothers Seeing Change in Corfu focuses on understanding and translating lived experience, contributing to practice-based research by exploring how artistic processes can make visible the affective and relational dimensions of ecological change.
