Place Is The Space is a project to create a database of acoustic signatures of unique forest, meadow and clear cut spaces in-situ within Czechia’s Šumava National Park. These spatial registers of the reverberant qualities of specific locales are designed to be used by others in audio production as virtual reverberation for sound design, VR, games, films, electroacoustic musical compositions or sound art. This paper presents the project’s methodology and underlying rationale.
