The Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University organizes the 6th International Conference Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges (DCAC-2024) which will be held in hybrid way - online and in the Ionian Academy in Corfu (Greece), on Friday 24 May and on Saturday 25 May 2024. Also on 26-27 May, 2024 the joint conference "Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" will take place. The proceedings of DCAC-2019 have been released by the Ionian University Publications - Department of Audio and Visual Arts (Corfu) and are available in the attached single online volume with: ISSN: 1613-0073 | ISBN: 978-960-7260-74-1.

The post-event video-spot of the 16th Festival of Audiovisual Arts which is held by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, in collaboration with the ERHMEE Lab - Department of Music Studies, of the Ionian University, in Corfu, Greece, is now available illustrating the range of scientific events and artistic activities that take place within the framework of the Festival.

Applications are now open for TTTfellows: Art and Science Residency - Spring 2024, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and the Ionian University within the Feral Labs Network. Dedicated to issues related to new reproductive technologies, TTTfellows is taking place on 1-15 March 2024 (online) and 18-29 March 2024 (on-place) on the islands of Corfu and Othonoi.

Dedicated to issues related to new reproductive technologies, TTTlabs: BioFeral.BeachCamp (BFBC) II under the theme New Repro-Zombie Studies (NR-ZS) - Undead Bioart / Bodyart on the Beach is taking place on 5-14 April 2024 (on-place) on the island of Crete.

On 13 and 20 December, 2023 (time 17:00-19:00 pm.), a double-lecture entitled "Semiology of Internet Art" will be given by guest-speaker Dr. Tania Tsiridou (Specialized Teaching Staff of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University), as part of the course "Semiotic Analysis of New Media" (ΜΑ "Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age"). The lectures will take place through the postgraduate online platform, coordinated by Associate Professor Ms. Dalila Honorato.

The fifth Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2023, organized and promoted by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University had exceeded our expectations with more than 1.440 submissions.

The fifth international conference Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science will take place September 27–29, 2023 in Valletta, Malta. Approximately 170 speakers from more than 30 countries focused (a) on questions about the nature of the forbidden and about the aesthetics of liminality, and (b) on the opening of spaces for creative transformation in the merging of science and art.

Hub of Art Laboratories (otherwise known as HAL), one of the most ambitious and innovative research programmes ever carried out by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, will receive its first major showcase at the upcoming Taboo – Transgression – Transcendence in Art & Science Interdisciplinary Conference, held in Valletta, Malta, between 26 and 29 September 2023.

On Wednesday December 14th, 2022, (17:00-19:00 pm), Dr. Dalila Honorato, and Dr Tania Tsiridou, docents of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, invite you to the guest lecture “The body as text: the interaction between body and technology in performance art” by the post-doc researcher Dr. Eleni Kolliopoulou. The lecture will be hybrid (room YK3 and online), within the frame of the course "Semiotic Analysis of New Media" of the Postgraduate Programme in Audiovisual Arts "MA: Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age".
