Selection Procedure
The organization of these events is an equal opportunities initiative and ensures that its selection procedures by a qualified international selection committee do not discriminate on any ground such as sex, race, colour, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, religion or belief, political or any other opinion, membership of a national minority, birth, disability, exanimatness, age, gender identity or sexual orientation. Selection criteria are the proposed project and relevant experience to the object of the call demonstrated in the application form.
Social Ethics
As part of the normal process of TTTfellows skillshares and/or discussions biomedia and body in performance, actions and experiments may contain explicit descriptions of, or may advocate simulations of, or experimental enactment of unorthodox behavior. Should your sensibilities be offended at any time, you are free to leave the site without judgment. Feral Labs are social experiments dedicated to a balance between respect for difference and free expression in comments and acts. Temporary autonomy comes with experimental openness and can lead to conflict that should be resolved in non-dogmatic ways. Due to the nature of the forbidden and the aesthetics of liminality, fluid non-normative ethics allows for acceptable breadth in the range of human behavior.
Surgical Training is Informal and Harms No Humans
No human subjects will be involved in the surgical training and no eggs (ovum) or oocytes/zygotes will be involved in TTTfellows. Instead, the technology involved ((i.e. microsurgical tools, microinjector or teratogens) will be used with state of the art medical manikins, speculative future artificial wombs and/or analogical organisms/embryos.objects. Beyond the hands-on practice, lectures, protocols, VR videos, how-to videos and performative metaphors will be the extent of the skill-share. It is expected that the participants of the final art and science collaboration will convey some of the basic principles, practices, materials, methods as well as risk factors, bioethical conundrums and future potentials and social complications related to Artificial Insemination, In Vitro Fertilization, Germline Gene Editing and Transgenic Foeti as Zombies.
Accommodation
Lodging is provided free of charge (see Location). Some food is provided but residents are expected to contribute to food preparation and house cleaning. Be ready to purchase some of your own sustenance and share at will.
Health
Upon acceptance, health eccentricities will be requested. Due to medical privacy, we can only request for you to let us know about any health issues you may have and make sure our safety officer knows where your remedies are located. You may have to show proof of health insurance even if it is just a policy for the length of your stay.
Beach Proximity
TTTfellows is not on the beach. It is on an island that has walkable, drivable and boatable beach access and so there are quite a few beaches to explore.Beach visits are planned for performance enhancement.
COVID
Participants are required to follow the official protocol on COVID-19 that is given on the Ionian Islands by the Greek Health Authorities at the time of residency.
Documentation
The activities developed during TTTfellows: Art & Science Residency will be documented for archiving and dissemination purposes.
Fee Procedure
Upon selection, participants will be requested to provide a copy of their passport, traveling schedule, proof of IBAN, a certificate of tax residency and this may additionally need apostille (if the country of issue is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention) or to be legalized via the chain authentication process (if the country of issue is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention) as well as certified (notarized) translation. The fee’s payment will be processed asap after arrival in Greece and candidates are requested to be able to provide for their traveling and expenses during the residency.
