Sophia Pouloupati was born and raised in Kalamata, Greece, where she studied Graphic Design. She worked at several journalism organizations over the years until she found her true calling after she got involved with the organizing team of the Peloponnisos International Documentary Festival. Promoted to head of the organizing committee in recent years, and officially a member of the Board of Directors of the Creative Documentary Center of Kalamata, she is responsible for assigning roles and responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of the event. Ηer primary task is to curate a well-balanced, high-quality program. Furthermore, she leads the festival's subtitling team, holding a certification in subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing. Her responsibilities also include communication with directors and distribution companies, the collection, archiving, and management of the festival's program files, and various other organizational duties.
