
Becca Bond is a filmmaker and educator from Bournemouth in the UK. She has worked as a producer director and series producer of factual television, documentary and current affairs for many broadcasters including BBC, Channel 4, Al Jazeera English, MTV, Discovery and CNN. She has also produced commercials with a documentary style for clients including Johnnie Walker, Airbus and Nissan. Her work has taken her all over the world filming cowboys in the Utah desert, diamond mines in South Africa, street car racers in LA, and football fans in Italy to name a few. She loves working closely with a crew to build trust with contributors and tell their story in an authentic and engaging way. Her directing credits include award winning television series Brat Camp (Channel 4), Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), Little Angels (BBC), That’ll Teach ‘Em (BBC), A Place in Italy (Channel 4).
Her most recent film, Dance Syndrome: Taking Over the Opera House, is currently in post-production. It is a collaboration with film students at Bournemouth University and Wiltshire College and University Centre and tells the story of a company of ballet dancers with Downs Syndrome putting on a production of The Rite of Spring at the Royal Opera House in London.
Becca is a senior lecturer at Bournemouth University and runs the BA Media Production degree course. She also runs an annual short film competition Film48. She loves working with students and supporting them to find their creative voice to tell authentic, diverse and meaningful stories.
