Maragkos Fanis, MSc in Music Technology, BSc in Music Technology and Acoustics
For the past nine years Maragkos Fanis has been working as a Laboratory Associate at the Department of Sound Technology and Musical Instruments, Ionian University, Greece, teaching modules (lectures and labs) on Live Sound, Recording Techniques, Postproduction and Mastering.
At the same time, he is working on his PhD thesis involving the “Study and Record of the Soundscape through the Development of Technologies and Techniques for Multi-Channel Field Recording” under the supervision of Mniestris Andreas at the Department of Music Studies, Ionian University.
He has participated as a Research Associate on the research program “Opticoacoustic Ecology” (7/2011-12/2013). The project involves the recording of certain aspects of selected ecosystems on the Ionian Islands as a step towards the preservation of the regional natural wealth and consequently as an advent to promote local sustainable development. He has been part of the design and materialization team for ARTE270° – Artificial Restoration of Transmuted Environments (2013-2014). He has accomplished a vast number of recordings of landscapes throughout Greece. He also works as a recording and live sound engineer with more than 200 live concerts. Currently he is a researcher in the program: Erasmus+: “The Soundscape We Live In”.
