George Monemvasitis
George Monemvasitis studied at the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Since 1978, he has been continuously engaged as a critic and commentator on musical events, a scriptwriter for music programs and publications, as well as a producer-presenter of music broadcasts – mainly on the Third Program of ERA. For 25 years (1989-2013), he taught History of Music, Art, and Radio Technique at journalism schools, as well as Music Communication. He has served as a music critic for the newspaper Eleftherotypia. He has been a member of the advisory board of the Athens Festival, deputy president of the Cultural Foundation of the Ministry of Culture, member of Athens State Orchestra’s Special Fund for Concert Organization, Director of the Second Program of ERA, advisor to the Cultural Olympiad, and member of the Board of Directors (treasurer) of the “Camerata,” Orchestra of Friends of Music.
