When a transgender women transitions, you pass through the barrier of gender, living through the social norms and expectations of one gender to another. For the past 6 years I’ve been making performances and photography that focuses on my transition from male to female. Each work looks at a separate issue concerning the physical, social, legal, and medical aspects of transition. My work critiques how trans women’s bodies are seen through a through a voyeuristic lens of sex and violence.
