Corfu Summer School in Hybrid Arts | Microscopy Imaging
Microscopy Imaging

Description:

Microscopy is one of the most flexible tools in a biologist's arsenal, since it allows the observation of the interior of 3D preserved fixed or living cell with minimal perturbation. In this seminar, the participants, will get familiarized with basic optical microscopy techniques, such as preparing and viewing their own blood smear. They will also be able to see objects with a magnification range of x15 to x30.000 through a Scanning Electron Microscope. The seminar will take place to the fully equipped Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology Lab (BiHELab) in the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University.

Keywords:

microscopy, electron microscopy, biological samples

Objectives (hour):

1. Microscopy Basic Functions and Applications
2. Laboratory techniques
3. View your own specimen

Prerequisites/advisable prior knowledge:

n/a.

Evaluation feedback:

Written assignment of your own observasions.
