Performance as aesthetic experience

Description:

Aisthesis, sensation, is the root of the word "aesthetics". This means that the experience we make of the world, and the possibility of expressing it in an aesthetic form, derives from our way of managing our sensorial potentialities and from the necessity to elaborate its stimuli into something communicable. The body is the means to activate the awareness of one's perceptive and expressive potentiality, in a non-verbal sense.
In this course we will give weight to the somatic aspect of perceiving and the possibility of consciously giving a stance to our presence in time and space and in relationship to the others.
