Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges

The 17th Audiovisual Arts Festival, a central event of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (AVARTS) of the Ionian University, ended on Sunday (02/06) with great success and large public attendance. For 10 days (May 23 – June 2, 2024) an original program of artistic, scientific and educational events provided the city of Corfu with new cultural experiences, gaining the attention of the academic and the local community.

The Department of Audio & Visual Arts, of the Ionian University in Corfu organizes the 6th International Conference Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges: Interdisciplinary Creativity in Arts and Technology (DCAC- 2024, May 24-25). The 17th Festival of Audiovisual Arts celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (AVARTS) of the Ionian University, presenting an extroverted, dynamic, and rich program of artistic, scientific, and educational events that fills the city of Corfu with images and sounds. The opening of the festival is the central anniversary event and will take place on Thursday (23/05) at 19:30 in the People's Garden.

The Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University organizes the 6th International Conference Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges (DCAC-2024) which will be held in hybrid way - online and in the Ionian Academy in Corfu (Greece), on Friday 24 May and on Saturday 25 May 2024. Also on 26-27 May, 2024 the joint conference "Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" will take place. The 15th Audiovisual Arts Festival organised by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts in collaboration with the ΕΡΗΜΕΕ laboratory of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University chose the Environment Day, Sunday, June 5th to celebrate at the estate of Mon Repo the end of its rich program. The volunteers of the Festival, of whom we are very proud and to whom we are obliged, undertake the organisation of the closing event, the same people who undertook the opening on May 12th. We are invited to a celebration for relaxation and decompression with respect for the natural environment and its ideals.

The deadline for the submission of full papers for the works presented in DCAC-2021 has been extended up to November 15th, 2021 (hard deadline).

The 14th Audiovisual Arts Festival programme completed with great success its artistic, educational and scientific activities. The live activities lasted 18 days, from 13 to 31 May 2021. The steering committee of the 14th Audiovisual Arts Festival warmly thanks its audiences for their support to all the actions throught these days: the particularly encouraging comments strengthen the efforts for the next Audiovisual Arts Festival!

All the material (video projections) of the 3rd International Conference DCAC-2021 that was screened during the Conference is available in every presentation until June 30, 2021.

Welcome to the 3rd International Conference on Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges. This year the International Conference on Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges will be held online. It is hosted by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (Ionian University) and depending on the pandemic circumstances there will be an option for physical presence. Conference dates: 28-29 May, 2021.
