Following the great success of the previous years, Women in Film and Television Greece (WIFT GR) and the Greek Film Archive present the 5th “50/50 EQUALITY IN CINEMA” WIFT GR FILM FESTIVAL, which is organised this year with the collaboration of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, under the auspices and with the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sport, and under the auspices of the Hellenic General Secretariat for Demography and Family Policy and Gender Equality. It takes place between 24 and 28 November 2021, on the occasion of the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25/11). all screenings and events of the Festival will be free of charge. Due to the pandemic, the Festival will be held online, at the screening platform of the Greek Film Archive online.tainiothiki.gr, with the exception of the opening night (24/11, at 19:00), which will take place in the great hall of the Greek Film Archive.

The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2021 is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. The festival also aims to preserve and help develop the cultural heritage of animated film, contribute to creation of new films, provide ground for potential international co-productions and encourages dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public. The 14th Audiovisual Arts Festival programme completed with great success its artistic, educational and scientific activities. The live activities lasted 18 days, from 13 to 31 May 2021. On Thursday, December 31st, 2020 and Friday, January 1st, 2021, the streaming of the projection mapping and the in situ performance which was created within the framework of the celebration by the Region of Ionian Islands for the 200th anniversary of the 1821 revolution took place. The artwork that will be projected, entitled "Sound and Light 1821 - 2021", was designed and implemented entirely by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University.
