Case studies from three postgraduate films of the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication University of West Attica in the field of Animation.
Those examples explore three different forms of narration, using the same expressive way, while the target group remains the same (ages 18 up to 30) with cultural references and social status of western culture and society.
The content of the narration is different in each film therefore it defines a different expression in visual and cinematic language in Visual Communication.
The first film is a narrative animation, in which the plot is the main point of this film.
The second film is an informative animation, that means it provides straight information about the theme.
And the third film is an advertising animation spot, that needs to make the product look catching to the audience.
Each film will be analyzed separately in terms of how the narrative, cinematic language, visual language, rhythm and editing are developed.
This paper is focused on showing and developing the numerous possibilities that animation is offering by connecting cinema and visual and applied arts.
